YEAR ZERO

The premiere of the film YEAR ZERO, a visual narrative poem on Haiti. The film is a collaborative production between producer David Snider founder of The Photography Channel <http://www.photographychannel.tv> and photographer Carlos Cazalis <http://www.cazalis.org> . The invite attached is for your kind disposition to spread the word and invite others who live or will be in New York on Martin Luther King day, January 16, 2012, two years after the natural disaster. At the door there will be a small charge of $5 or $10 with a drink included but any additional donation is welcome, with all proceeds going to the energetic Haitian NGO J'aime Haiti <http://www.jaimehaiti.org/> .
About the film:
Year Zero is a documentary film about the aftermath of Haiti post earthquake January 12, 2010. Producers David Snider and Carlos Cazalis teamed up with Chromasonus sound producer Nao Sakamoto to document year zero, the attempts by the Haitian republic to recover from the consequences of the natural disaster that hit Port-Au-Prince, Leogane and Jacmel, having devastating effects with great loss of life. Through a visual narrative poem, spoken by Haitian poet Dr. Henry Barbot, producer Snider incorporates Cazalis' photographs to tell the dramatic life stories of a crippled state on the verge of collapse due to a devastating year in 2010 with several natural disasters, a refugee crisis, a gratuitous cholera epidemic, and an army of aid actors at play.
★After the presentation a Q&A with producer David Snider will ensue, followed by the multimedia piece Fear in the Camps <http://vimeo.com/26599278> , by Nadav Neuhaus, on the rape and human rights violations of women in the camps of Port-Au-Prince.

1st set :演奏×ライブペインティング
2nd set:フリーインプロビゼーション
サウンド・オーガナイザー、アンビエント・ノイズ・サウンド・コンポーザーでノイズ・レーベル「クロマソヌス」代表の坂本直、声を媒体に空間を楽器として鳴らすことや神話性をテーマにした歌うたいを探究し、造形／映像作家としても活動する山崎阿弥、２人の久々の共演。
共に、ソロ演奏はもちろん、ダンスや映画、映像、写真、演劇など異なる表現分野とのコラボレーションにより国内外で活動を拡げている。
タイトルにもある「水が生まれてくる」は近年のお互いの作品の印象から自然に感じ取られたイメージ。
今回、1stセットは坂本直による演奏と山崎のライブペインティング、２ndセットは音と声による２人のフリーインプロヴィゼーションの二部構成。
年明け、新しい気持で迎える、新しい水。その清々しさを体験できる必聴のパフォーマンス。

声のアーティスト。世界中の音に混じり声を出す。
様々な音楽家や映像作家、ダンサー、演劇等との共創多数。
映画監督、造形作家、詩人でもあり、それぞれの分野で活動している。
これまでは、伊勢神宮「お木曵き」での歌の奉納、日本を代表するサラウンドの匠・沢口真生との音楽づくり、エイブル・アート・ジャパン制作の舞台作品「stepping stones」への出演、オリジナル・ユニット「編み物オーケストラ」、個展「風の仕事場」（現代ハイツ）、映像を使用したソロ・パフォーマンス「IRIS」（現代ハイツ）など。2010年にはコミュニティFMラジオ局でパーソナリティをつとめた。
また、2011年はNYでも活動の場を拡げ、「ENERGY」(Proteus Gowanus)「Love Letter」(Center for Remember and Sharing)、Mark Lamb Daces presents「Second Saturday Sanctuary Salon Series」(Metro Baptist Church)でのパフォーマンス、個展「voices -feather composition-」（Proteus Gowanus）など。

This will be our 6th collaboration live performance since 2004, for the 1st time in 3 yrs.
Ami Yamasaki acts not only as a voice artist but as a dancer, a filmmaker, a photographer and an actress around the world.
This performance contains 2 stages under the theme " Mizu ga Umarete Kuru" as :
The 1st stage is her live painting with my electro-acoustic loop sound.
The 2nd stage is completely " Improvisation " with my prepared guitar & her voice.
I hope, no, I am sure this performance is gonna be the best performance that I have done with her ever.
